    @Crossbones make sure your ELD parameters are set correctly. Any decent ELD will support the different rule sets like oilfield and state specific intrastate rules. If your ELD doesn't support that then it may be worth while to look at different devices to save the hassle of explaining violation remarks at the scale house.

    Also, check to make sure the driver profile has been entered properly. If the Drive Cycle is incorrect (i.e. US70hr/8days, instead of TX 70hr/7days), the device isn't going to reflect the intrastate rules.

    2nd thought - "Violation Remarks: don't typically appear, while using the Inspection Function of an ELD. All lines on the Grid Chart should be the same color and there aren't any Remarks added. The remarks and "Red Lines" are for the driver's and Admin's display only. Nothing to explain there. If there is a violation, they have to find it themselves.

    Personal conveyance is only for personal, non-work related driving. I’m not here to give you trouble or start a fight, I’m just saying that pulling into the shop to have work done on your truck would not qualify as “personal conveyance.” Just something to think about in the future so your or anyone else reading this doesn’t get themselves in a bind with HOS.

    You are correct, typically they do not show during inspection mode although I would question that on a device that does not support the various rule sets. I have seen some of the lower quality, poorly coded ELDs do just that -highlight the violations for the officer!
    Really, setting the correct rule set is more of a convince factor for the driver, to avoid nuisance alerts that can be distracting.

    Isn't bobtail unladen by definition? The reg doesn't say dispatched or on a trip. It just says unladen, which means not hauling freight.

    Edit: Never mind. I see what you were replying to now.

    Solution(s):
    - Yard Moves
    or
    - Off Duty and Log Out Completely. Let the "Unidentified Driving Events" occur. Then create an additional Driver Account (Call it Yard Moves or Mechanic) and assign the events there.

    The lack of integrity on this board is astounding sometimes...

    PC is fine if it's personal. You want to get something to eat and take a shower. Once it's for the "truck" or business, like going to the shop, it won't work.

    But only those who run paper are cheating the HOS. An ELD would never allow such behavior.

    I should have quoted the reply to. I wasn't thinking today.
    Took the day off, to work at home. Thus, not thinking the clearest.....:cool:
