Okay so about three years ago I was going around the Watermelon 285 with one of the 19's. Of course I have a front and rear pilot plus a front and rear LEO (GSP). This lady called the 800 number on the door of the truck in a complete panic, the receptionist put her on hold, called me and clued me in then transferred the call to me. This lady was loosing it, she was telling me that one of our trucks was in Atlanta running away from the police, there was one chasing it and another in front trying to stop it but the truck wasn't slowing down. She had herself worked into a frenzy then I asked her if it was a blueish purple truck, she said yes, I said is there a red pickup right behind it with flashing yellow lights, she said yes so then I told her she was actually talking to the driver and those police were escorting me. All I got was "Oh".
The office staff laughs, said they don't need to look at the live map to know we're going around Atlanta because the phone in Washington blows up.
How do react when you get flipped off?

I've seen a few times where someone coming in the opposite direction has given me the finger, without there even being a chance of my being in their way. Some people just hate truckers.

Sitting in the lunchroom one day, listening to a lady, who made it a habit,to lock her car, while running,
And coming into work(WTF
She was stating how rude other drivers were to her,
As she got flipped off twice in one day by different drivers.I got up and stated, once a day could possibly happen..but multiple times in one day-=bad driver..and probably deserved it...got a round of applause from other workers, who got stuck behind granny, every morning on their way into work.

Rhode Island once, some college aged guys just being idiots. At the end of the day it's just a finger. Also in the same town got assaulted with a bunch of snow balls at a stop light by some kids..one of the snow balls left a dent which makes me think it was packed with rocks.

Instead of flipping them back off, I typically either:
A) Avoid eye contact and pray they don't stick their finger out the window when they get up in front of me.("ignorance is bliss"; "if I don't see them, they don't exist"; and all that jazz.)
B)If eye contact is made, flicker my tongue back and forth at them like I'm wanting eat them for dinner, a'la Hannibal Lecter!!! -
Its like the people that run up beside me and lay on there horn, I just push a button and remind them what a real horn sounds like. Kind of funny tho to watch. If my wife is in the truck she just flash's them when they flip us off. Kind of train wrecks there brains I guess.
