Actually, my paycheck is my friend. HOS regulations are the enemy of my paycheck. The enemy of my friend...

Your allowed to log your 30 min break off duty or sleeper berth. I log mine off duty just so it shows different in my logs so dot can spot it easily and they don't have to look hard.

    o this is ripe

when your truck is being repaired, you are supposed to log onduty? how many eloggers do this? they berate paperloggers of not running legal, but what driver in his right mind would eat up his 70hrs while his truck is sitting two days at a repair shop?

it is sad that we put up with such nitpicking by DOT

so while my truck is being worked on, i am onduty? why doesnt ONDUTY mean getting paid? if you are not getting paid, you are not working, you are not onduty (not legal defintion, just MY definition)

If you are free to leave the truck, then you are off duty... taking a shower, eating dinner, watching a movie... you are off duty...

You are setting on the side of the road, you are on duty, waiting for the wrecker...

And I agree with your definition, but the DOT, who enforces the regulations does not.

I log 15 minutes on duty check in time and then 15 min on duty check out time. If I'm in their driver lounge sexting with my sweetheart I'm not on duty.
