Matlack had space for 5 trucks mileage and time on each bill.
Chem Leaman closed the original at the first transfer and each additional unit added a 'special manifest' with their mileage and time...
each unit need to record it's actual stuff and it all get's combined on the report

I realize my mistake now. Thank you

Driver I asked from another bus line says the driver who purchases the fuel completes the form? Could multiple drivers use one form for the trip?

Most companies would keep the IFTA reporting identifiable...Matlack had 5 boxes across the bottom of the bill to cover up to 5 different units on the trip; i.e. pre-loader, relay, line-haul, delivery - all on one document.
the first few pages were shorter and contained the customer and shipper copies for the trip while the terminal and billing copies had the IFTA stuff too...
Since the routes and miles and fuel purchase stuff is considered sporting documents to HOS you need to be able to produce each driver's stuff when being audited so you may want to keep everything by the driver in order to make this simple to audit.
The easier you make it for the auditor; the quicker things move along - your mileage may vary but disorganized records and supporting documents will make them look all the harder and I can say I saw the auditor do her job but left a lot of the false logs on the table because she had to document each one she used in her summary; I feel she 'threw back' 2/3rds of the 'catch' that would have been included if I had made things more difficult.Swadian Thanks this.
