Wish I had pictures of the scene I saw last night down at the Anchor Hocking plant in Lancaster, OH. Apparently the maintenance people just got done installing new rollers and some other parts on their somewhat old and worn rolling gate when a May Trucking driver decided it was time to get it completely replaced. Sad thing is, he had to hit not one but TWO big yellow concrete-filled posts tied together by 2 steel beams before he hit the gate itself. Tore a pretty good chunk of aluminum and foam out of the side of the trailer. Had a good laugh with the gate guard over it as it happened on his shift and he watched the whole thing go down. Unbelievable.

 

Was this a slow motion squealing and grinding, or did he properly punch to do real damage?

 

The trailer had foam sitting INSIDE of it, as well as all the foam on the ground. Looked like about a 20 foot long and about foot wide scrape at it's end. Not sure how fast he was going, but if it wasn't fast it was sure stupid because he drug that sucker a ways against the rail before he stopped. I might be headed down there again tonight, I'll see if I can get some pics.

 

"Hmm, what's that noise? Guess I'll just keep going and see if it goes away....

 

"Hey boss? I think the water pump must be shot. Every time I give it full throttle there's this squealing noise."

 

I bet they had a Cascadia with the tiny mirrors
