I've driven for 20 years... have concealed carry permit from Arkansas and also a FFL Type 7. The Georgia concealed weapons permit is too easy to obtain.. that is why it is not honored in South Carolina or any other state that requires a Safety Class & classroom instruction covering the laws & regulations of carrying a weapon prior to issuing a permit from them. Notwithstanding any other provision of any law or any rule or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof, any person who is not otherwise prohibited by this chapter from transporting, shipping, or receiving a firearm shall be entitled to transport a firearm for any lawful purpose from any place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully possess and carry such firearm if, during such transportation the firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver's compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console.
* Note: Even if the glove compartment or console has a key lock-- you can not lock your unloaded firearm in it- those 2 areas are prohibited
* Note: The ammo does not have to be locked in a separate box etc. In fact- just the ammo OR unloaded firearm needs to be locked up. The loaded magazine or clip can be locked in the same box as the unloaded firearm.

The problem with carrying on a commercial really boils down to 1) it's against company policy because INSURANCE LIABILITY. 2) You're engaging in business on various business properties making deliveries & pickups and it violates their NO Weapons in the Workplace Policy. 3) You can't take firearms onto Federal Government Property, Military Bases, Bulk Mail Centers, Correctional Facilities, School Zones, etc etc.
