Marten does not hire newbies right out of drivin school. You need a min of one year otr, to be considered for employment.

That is odd. They are on the list of companies that recruit at the school I am going to.

Martin or Marten? There are two of them out there.

Seems like all companies have different lengths of time or miles they require new drivers to train under. I'd talk to recruiters of the companies you're interested in to find out more. When I got out of school, although I was pre-hired with national carriers, I went down the phone book of local OTR companies and asked if they hired new grads. I went to work with one that had me spend a half a day with another driver, just giving me a road check....driving, backing, all that stuff. During my time there, no incidents, accidents or anything.

It all depends on the driver and trainer. My first job I was with a trainer for 2 weeks. He would have let me loose after less than a week but the company has a minimum 2 week policy. He was an excellent trainer, one of the old hands that has driven for years and takes the new guys under his wing and teaches them all the little things you need to know that the schools don't teach you. Hopefully you get a good trainer that has been OTR for more than a couple of years and is good at teaching.

According to their website, you need a minimum of 6 months experience. Just checked it out.

I don't know, maybe Crowder hasn't updated their website or Marten failed to let them know they no longer take students.

Nevermind I have been spending too much time on this computer and I can't remember what I read on which site. I will be OK. Maybe.
