Are there any oil and gas outfits near you? Ever thought about hauling water? Most of those companies drive day cabs whether it be a day cab hooked up to a tanker or a water bottle (tri-axle) which means you would be with a trainer for a bit but you don't have to sleep in the truck with a stranger. The pay is usually pretty good ($20/hr) and most drivers work 60 hrs a week but are home every night.

There was for a while when the Waynesville shale was booming but that died back a few years ago. West tx frac and sand work is going but not in no way booming and most places are hunting locals to avoid the housing issue.
