i have a eaton 10sp. i was told by a tech at kw in nashville it could be converted by adding a couple airlines and a shift knob off of a 13sp. i would like to know if this is actually possible or if it was just the tech trying to sound smart.

    my trans model number FRO-16210C

any help on this would be appreciated.

    not 10 sp.

really 9 sp may be converted to 13 sp changing cover and input shaft, but belive me it is easy to find 18 on JY

On a 9 speed you change the back section of the gearbox, the internals of the main box stays the same. Haven't seen it done on a 10 speed.

9 speed transmissions were with other input shafts so you cnt use it on newer truck. As I've understood idea to purchase old 9 sp (cheap), coonvert it to 18 sp (using back section from toasted 18 sp), remove 10 sp and fit 18 зp (mad of 9sp).

I have not seen an RT or RTLO series transmission that doesn't have a 2"x 10 spline input shaft, on one that is different is RTLO22918 which uses a 2"x 14 spline shaft.

There is no way just to change airlines to allow a 9 spd to work as a 13 spd, there has to be splitter mechanism added to the back of the main case.
