Bullhaulerswife said I ought to swing by the Wagon and introduce myself, so here I am.
I've been around trucks most my life. I left home at fifteen years old and stuck my thumb out in the wind, destination anywhere but here. The first ride I got was from an old hand that said he couldn't stay awake to drive another minute and asked if I knew how to handle a gear shift. I told him my grandpa had a four speed, He said "When you get to fourth gear, flip this button right here and start all over again.", the rest is history.
I'm not going to incriminate myself so let's just say it was 1991 before I got my CDL, other than taking a few years off to swing a hammer and the occasional gig as an instructor, I've been driving OTR professionally for most of these last 20 years.
I hurt my back well over a year ago and haven't done much of anything but lay around trying to get better since. I'm doing fine now and logged onto the forum to hopefully find out where my next job might be.
I cut my teeth flatbedding but switched over to vans about ten years ago. Between the vans and the back injury I've gotten a little soft and am thinking maybe I ought to spend some time rolling around in the mud again for a change. I live in San Antonio but it's just an address and hope to find a gig that gets me up north (MT, WY, ID, ND, CO, WA) on a regular basis so I can start searching for some property up there. Guess that does it, have a great day.
