Howdy from AZ!

My name is Shawn and I have been around trucks since 1984 ...

I got hired out of Vo-Tech Automotive school, into a small truck repair shop, that over time became an Diamond Rio (Remember them?) dealer, Isuzu Dealer, and then went with Freightliner now ... I only worked there for a few years (before they took on Freightliner)

I started traveling on my own, and got the idea to travel to all 50 states ... So I hit all 50 states, and all 10 provinces and two territories of Canada ...

I got the traveling bug, and started OTR with CR England back in '92 ... Got married in 97, and switched to CCX (Now Conway) to be home more with my wife in '98 ... That didn't work out, so I went to hauling propane locally for many years ... This was when I lived in VT ... Back in 07 we moved to AZ (East of Tucson) to get away from the cold, and I wanted to get back on the big road ... But, nobody would hire me without me going back to school, since I didn't have any "recent" OTR experience, I drove a dump truck for a little bit, then got a local job as a school bus driver, and soon was the head of transportation at our little local school ... Three years later I met a guy, who knew a guy ... And I got a job hauling hay for the summer with a flatbed in AZ & NM ... That gave me 6 months of "recent" and I ended up going with Werner ... Glad that 10 months is over ... Then "upgraded" to Heartland for 15 months... Better, but not my cup of tea! Now with Danny Herman for the last 12 months ... Very happy most days!

I've tossed around the idea of buying my own truck, just haven't done all my home work yet ...

 

Thanks for the Welcome ... Yes, I've put a few miles on, and seen a lot of things ... Driven a truck in 48 states, and five provinces of Canada ... I like driving!
