hurt is a little vague. more detail will get you more results. otherwise you'll just get me and my answers are uninformed and generally suck.

    Driver, you sound like me......

OP: Ditto Meltom. Back injury, neck, crushed chest cavity, lost an eye?

Assuming the company will hire you with your medical history, it will be hit or miss on recent experience. I see some companies that want 1 year in the past 5, some want 6 mo in the past 3 years.

Small company my hire you after that time, mine has hired people who have been on long term disability.

It depends on why you didn't work, what kind of injury?

you of course will need a "release" from your doctor stating you are now once again an "able bodied person, capable of doing the job"...

you would want to make several photo copies of that document, then if asked your gap, you can provide that document as proof you are good to go.. of course, you will go through another DOT physical, you know that.

some companies may shy away from you, as you "could be " considered an insurance risk..not for an accident, but for another injury, costing THEM money on a workman's comp claim.....

just get better, then get that document, then apply for jobs....
go from that point..so until you are actually ready to be released, it's too soon to say for sure right now how employable you would be....
