Just what you said.
It is not needed for IFTA anymore. The truck is not subject to it.
Call your accountant/tax preparer.
People charge for the advice I have given.Christank Thanks this. -
Really....Okay then...One problem solved ...80 more to figure out...LOL. I thank you much.

That will not be a problem.Your 2290 form will have to be filed only if you put another tag on the truck. Do not worry about about adding a few miles to the odometer. However, when you sell the truck, make sure the buyer knows the 2290 tax is his problem, as you are responsible for filing the form for the time you owned it, IF it were needed.
That caused me a lot of paperwork one year when I bought a truck from a dealer. IRS wanted me to pay for 2290 form for the year truck was on dealers lot. Had to get signed paper from dealer stating the truck was not in use the year before I bought it.Christank Thanks this. -
Yeah I had to pay the HVUT twice the first year once when I licensed it and then later in August same year.....the seller must not have paid it....and they didnt tell me about it either.

File the 2290 with the exemption I mentioned. It relieves you of any potential filing penalties and hassles.Christank Thanks this.
