No, not automatically. Your insurance company that should be working for you isn't looking out for you, but themselves. If the other party doesn't have insurance, they will talk about repairing your truck enough to get it past a DOT inspection. THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Tell them you want it fixed. Tell them you want a rental. Tell them you want lost wages. If they give you any lip or drag their feet, lawyer up. We pay for insurance for those times like that and then they try to save money on their end. Not happening.Tombstone69, Rideandrepair, PE_T and 5 others Thank this. -
Anything on the road revolves around insurance

I got slammed in my personal car this winter. Some 16 year old chick who got her license Friday, blasted thru a red light and t boned me on Saturday. Everything @TripleSix said happened. All of a sudden they “forgot” I had rental insurance. All of a sudden they “forgot” I had GAP insurance. The point of this is that was in a car, and I had to fight for them to honor my policy. If they wanted their money they wouldn’t think twice of fighting you for it. Neither should you. Also, don’t take the first offer the offending party’s insurance offers you, God forbid this does happen.
Rideandrepair, PE_T, tscottme and 2 others Thank this. -
We have USAA they have always done us right. Earlier this year my daughter was stopped to turn left and a uninsured truck rear ended her totaling her Honda. They have done everything right including seeing that the other owner and driver lost the license pending huge fines.Rideandrepair, PE_T, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.

To OP's first questions set.
No and no and No.
What part of No do you not spend?
Refer to the first three questions and answers No and no and no. lol.
If I wanted to be involved in the trucking industry, I'll do it from the insurance side. That's where the money is.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
If the accident is your fault your comp/collision will fix your truck. Lost wages and rental absolutely not.
If the damage is the other parties fault if they are insured they will fix your truck, you will have to talk to their adjuster about rental and lost wages. He is gonna start stuttering immediately and you will have to prove your income. If they do pay your lost wages it won't be quick or easy. You will have to wait till the entire process is over and submit 1 number. Then wait.....Rideandrepair, x1Heavy and snowman_w900 Thank this.
