Hello I was just put out of service because my cdl was downgraded . I’m from California and my medical card expires next month . I’m currently in Arkansas . The issue is the dmv never received my medical exam so it was never updated in the system . The officer told me I wasn’t able to drive so I’m stuck here and I don’t know what to do !

Call the place you got your physical they should have it on file. Have them email it to you and take to dmv.

Or just leave when officer leaves, or better around midnight

Call the place you got your physical and have them re-submit your paperwork. It is their responsibility to send it.

Both of the above are good answers.

My kid got an out of service in (Mass a too shi*s) for a bulb.
He left the truck, walked to auto zone, got a bulb and replaced it.
Officer had left by then, put the new bulb in, and drove home.

Get on the horn and have the lab re-send your data,
tell them you are upset because you are stuck out of service
in Arkansas because THEY didn't follow thru.
Mr. Buzzard is right, it's on them.

Why was it downgraded before your medcard expired?

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, follow up with DMV after getting a new med card and ALWAYS Keep your own copy in your crash pack. NEVER rely on someone else to ensure you are in compliance.

DMV receives DOT medical thru walk in’s. You’re going to need someone get your physical paperwork and have them take it to the DMV office. I doubt it if the medical office you took it in will do that for you. And I hope they form has a check mark for “Interstate” not Intrastate. I always carry my form with me. And next time don’t believe that they will do it for you. It’s your job to make sure DMV receives it, you will get a receipt upon completion from DMV.

That was my first question as well, especially with a month left to go.

Is there is something we are not being told?

That’s what I’m saying it’s been a year and 11 months and I have been stop before for inspections and never had an issue with my medical card till today , I was last stopped in North Carolina for a road side inspection that was not to long ago and the officer let me go on my way after checking all my paperwork, I’m just waiting for it to be morning so I can continue my route , out of service is 10 hrs I’m just hoping I don’t get stopped twice in a week , I was able to submit the medical exam thru the dmv website but it take 2-4 days to be reviewed

:hello2:, you know, there was a time you could get away with that, cameras were for Hollywood, and I knew drivers, out of state mostly, received a citation, hour OOS, mostly, they closed the scale, the cops left, and they left. I don't ever recall a "camping out" at a scale, usually got legal, and I don't recommend that today. Sadly, what this does show, is how a simple electronic glitch can ruin somebodys livelihood. :biggrin_25513:
