I think that is a requirement for employment at Fed Ex Ground. Keep your foot on the floor regardless of the speed limit. Go 65mph all the time. Stay in the left lane at all times.Trucker61016, Lonesome, bzinger and 4 others Thank this.

Very well put. It is no wonder those same braindead are cheering on the electrification of cars, and soon after will cheer on automation which will hinder our freedom to drive. Once self driving cars are the norm, human driving will become illegal or severely restricted.Flat Earth Trucker, Trucker61016, TripleSix and 2 others Thank this.

With trucks most are people that drive for a living. Most are paid by the mile. Most have eld's they are racing against in trucks with 65 or 70 top speed. I run alot of 65mph 2lane with towns every 30 or 40 miles. I slow down to the posted limit in every one of them and obey all REAL construction zone limits and all school zones. But outside of town many places I can see ahead of me for 2 or3 miles and there I tend to run 5 over or so. So guys that run 65 or 70 that stay in sight of me pass me in all these little towns then struggle outside of town to go any faster.... playing beat the clock with slow trucks. So much for safety.

What I meant was, if I am doing 70 in a 70 zone people generally don’t tailgate, but if I am doing 55 or even 60 in a 55 zone, almost everybody tailgates and wants to pass. Often people will pass me in a 55 zone doing 70-75 (15-20 over the limit). But I rarely see people doing 15-20 over the limit when the limit is 70.Trucker61016, Lonesome and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

You brought up another of my all time greatest peeves, people who slam on their brakes whenever they see a cop, or in your case, think they see a cop. I see idiots slam on their brakes even if they see an ambulance on the other side of the median (they see those flashing lights and panic). Drives me crazy. People even do this when they aren’t speeding!
Funny story, there is an electrical contractor somewhere near me that drives a white crew cab pickup, with a light bar on top and the logo on the door is a big star. So from a distance it kinda looks like the type of rig a park ranger or something would drive. I see them from time to time in traffic and everyone always does the brake check thing when they pass them. It’s pathetic.Last edited: Jul 24, 2021

I have the road speed on my truck set at 80 mph but prefer 63 to 67 mph depending on traffic and will bump it up or down to avoid lane changes and maintain a safe following distance which seems to be lost on today's truck driver .

That’s it right there. Governed trucks will always try and do what they can regardless. When I had a governed truck I always went 3 mph under. It suclked, but gave me a little boost if I needed it so I wouldn’t be “that driver” in the hammer lane.
I mean if one is already governed at 65, you’re already screwed. might as well go 61-62 and leave something if needed. F itGearjammin' Penguin, Flat Earth Trucker and Kyle G. Thank this. -
It’s the same issue as all the rest.
The problems that we are seeing in traffic are not being done purposely. I am not trying to be mean, I am not judging. I am not making fun of people and I am not a bully. There is a huge percentage of the population that is literally Braindead. They look like you and me, they can be nice people, BUT they are Brain DEAD.
If we were in a sci-fi movie, we would be watching the beginnings of the zombie apocalypse.Gearjammin' Penguin, God prefers Diesels, Flat Earth Trucker and 10 others Thank this.
