I have a Detroit (non-Optimized-Idle) setup that has had idle disabled. (DarkFart, I mean, ParkSmart-equipped). The trouble is that the DarkFart batteries only last 10-12 hours, and if you're doing a restart on weekends, you can't recharge them if the chassis engine won't idle more than five minutes. Any thoughts? Cruise control trick does not work.

The cruise control trick only works on trucks that have the PTO mode enabled in the ECM, other than that the only way to disable anti idle is to get it turned off in the ECM.

30 lb dumbbell on the accelerator. Won't that overrev and blow the engine?

You can test this..to make sure it works on your truck..just put your accelerator to the floor with your foot...keep it there..start truck and if rpm stays around 600..get a 30lb square head dumbbell...square head so it doesn't move on peddle
