    I drive a day cab tractor trailer for a company in Florida, it is all company owned equipment. I drive locally daily. We do not cross state lines, but do purchase our fuel from truck stops.

    Do I need an ifta sticker?

    Yes probably we just got new IFTA stickers for this year. I think if your company has US DOT Operating Authority you need a sticker. I just put my 2017 IFTA sticker on my truck this week. Do you have a sticker on your truck right now?

    I would just think that if your company has US DOT 50 state authority then your going to have one.

    I have a sticker on here from 2013 for Tennessee. I believe that's where the company bought the truck from (used). Ever since it's been in Florida they haven't had one, even before I took over driving. I will have to look more into it.

    It has a florida license plate on it (not sure if that matters any)

    Nope. The whole point of IFTA is making sure all the states you travel through get their fair share of fuel tax but if all your miles and fuel purchases are in one state, its completely unnecessary.

    You don't cross state line so you don't need ifta. Ifta is all about each jurisdiction getting their fair share of the fuel taxes based upon gallons purchased and miles ran in each jurisdiction.

    @Chasingthesky beat me to it.

    I'd remove that old sticker. While not illegal to have an old one on, they are color coded so when a scale matter is eyeballing your truck as you roll across, seeing an old one but not the current years, might get ya pulled around back. Then again, not having one at all could get ya pulled around.

    Oxbow and CDubbs Thank this.

    License plates are from all over my company is based out of Michigan our transportation arm has a separate LLC set up based out of Michigan, but the tractors and trailers are all registered in Indiana. It has something to do with taxes and road tax and all that jazz.

    Most Fleets register their equipment in whatever States that are the least expensive, years ago it was Oklahoma.

    Now it's Indiana.
