Do they HAVE to be on the truck January 1?
I got mine last night and think that under 30 degrees is just too cold for them to stick on the truck very well.
Can I just tape them in the windows then stick them on when I get back south and its warmer
IFTA stickers.

Paul, I got busted about 10 years ago for "taping" them for the exact same reason that you are useing. I suppose it all depends upon the demeanor of the DOT man @ the time. They are supposed to be "permanently" applied.
ps: Mine aren't applied yet so I'll be doing the same thing again this year. -
You've got 30 days to get them on the truck, IIRC.

Used to be by March 1st

Heh! You're right...

R655 GRACE PERIOD
.100
Carriers from new member jurisdictions shall be allowed a two-month grace period from the date of the new member's IFTA program implementation to display the IFTA license and decals. However, carriers must maintain the proper credentials for traveling in member jurisdictions until they display the valid IFTA license and decals.

Carriers renewing their IFTA license and decals have a two-month grace period (January and February) to display the renewal IFTA license and decals. To operate in IFTA jurisdictions during this grace period, carriers must display either valid current or prior year IFTA license and decals from the jurisdiction in which they were operating or a valid single-trip permit from the IFTA jurisdiction in which they are operating.paul 1052 Thanks this. -
I thought there was a grace period but with all the things that have been changed...who knows.

$3.50 in IL. I think that this is a first in IL. Something Gov't issued that isn't one of the highest in the US.
Shhhh. Don't tell them.Crazy D Thanks this. -
Take a heat gun or propane torch and carefully so as not to burn the paint warm the surface where you will apply the sticker, works well in N.E. Wi.
Hanadarko Thanks this.
