It's good to read your words again, Gravdigr. :smt045

Now, the number one thang to consider when decidin' on which Big truck truckin' company to hire on with, --- and it's easy to remember, --- Simply pick whichever company allows you the most free time to post here.
Just keep in mind where you'll be eligible to apply in another 22 months. That should provide a light at the end of the tunnel to aim for.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I tried sheetz, even with conections (all the way up to steve sheetz himself) they just can't break policy to hire me without the full 3 years experience. But, I can work one of these jobs and get the rest of my experience then drop an app at sheetz, unless I really like where I'm at.

Yes that does sound like the same smith transport. We will see how the interview goes. I didn't even consider free chicken through imlers lol, hot wings every week. WOOHOO!

Generally, the private carriers, like Imlers, has the best pay, benefits and working conditions. If I were to ever go back to company driving, it would be for a private carrier gig, over a trucking company.

Can you get a natural gas related job around their. Sheetz is the best by far so put your time in and try their later. Depending what health issues your girl has their are some goverment programs that might help with some of her medicine.

Well, I'm definitely going with Imlers. Smith doesn't even come close to what they offer. The hourly pay is low, but the weekly bonuses more than make up for it. And the benefits are very good, medical is way better, they match 50% of your 401k up to 5% vs 30% up to 3% for smith. 6 paid holidays a year, vacation and personal days. Did I mention hourly pay plus overtime for anything over 40 hours? Yeah this one is a no brainer.

Better be careful, you may end up forgetting about Sheetz! Private carriers almost always are better than trucking companies.
