I just found this site, a have a mild forum addiction. I got my CDL and tanker when I was I college as that's what I needed for the CO-OP I was going to work for. When I turned 21 I got the has-mat for pulling anhydrous tanks.
Worked that job for 3 years going from "the new guy" to top dog of the field personnel with no raise of any sort. I was pushed harder and harder with zero recognition. Had enough walked out on a Wednesday took a well needed vacation started my new job the next monday.
Been climbing cell towers and driving 18 wheels for almost 2 years with this company. Few weeks ago they let me take a 11' 11.5" wide equipment building from Chicago Il to Cedar Rapids IA. And I fell in love.
Looking to learn as much as I can about driving and flatbed work while I'm here and use that knowledge as a valuable backup plan should I ever get tired climbing.
Thanks guys.
