Are content creators getting laidoff/terminated/fired from the industry. The last couple months it seems like a lot of content creators on YouTube, TikTok etc regarding the trucking industry or even office logistic are just getting fired or they can’t find work or whatever the reason is after being let go.

also half the industry does have a “no photo on phone policy” - it would make sense after Covid - they started really enforcing it more or slapping employees up to show their power.

also, remember like two years ago a TikToker Trucker died in the middle of driving - forgot what his name was.

Anyway just keep hearing drivers who make YouTube videos or TikTok’s and stuff end up fired recently.

I'm sure the megas with YT'ing drivers would see that as a huge liability.

    So yeah, bye

It probably has something to do with the current market state as well. Things are really slow so there isn't much incentive to provide "content" when the interest level is low. Wait until the next boom...YT will be brimming with more crap talkers and snake oil salesmen than you could ever want.

Some of those guys make so many videos, I question if they're even really truck drivers. I don't see how they have so much time to make all this content. Their lack of productivity on the road may have got them fired too. I'm only speculating though.

Their was a driver on here a few years back (maybe 8 years ago) that was doing a live stream complete with chat room. He was driving in dense fog and rear-ended another semi. He said it was because the other trucks trailer was white. He was fired (he thought it was unfair) the next day when the company found out about the live streem

One of my close friends runs a tanker fleet of around 50 trucks total. He won’t hire or lease anyone on that has a large social media following. It’s pretty easy to see the drama that follows all the “famous” people around.

I chatted with a female content provider. She’s all over the Internet cute thing weighs about 95 pounds young etc. very Ambitious young lady and without saying her name she travels around with her female dog etc. she’s a legit trucker, HOWEVER, she admitted she makes way MORE money off her content then trucking. Even had products related to trucking sponsor her. Weird times we live in. Last I heard she’s been driving for about five years and it’s starting to get to her.

I can't think you can be productive and turn out good videos at the same time. I have a YouTube channel, used to be monetized and make a little money off of it. It has nothing to do with trucking, If you are doing the filming, narrating, and editing, to turn out a good video, just the editing can take days. I did videos of traveling, camping, and off-road oriented stuff. Add in that you are filming everything you do, and worrying about audio, and how the video looks while your supposed to be doing something enjoyable. I have hundreds of hours of video, to edit from my last couple trips and don't even have the time to do that with all the truck side of things has me dealing with daily. I would like to say I would never shoot video in the truck, but I do have camera mounts installed and could roll video, but I find what I do daily very uninteresting, and don't want to get a bunch of people trying to get on the account I am on and bidding it down, which to some extent already happens
