I was looking through truckpaper and saw something I hadn't seen before. Truck was listed as a 9 speed but when reading the details it said "Transmission RTOC16909A 9-13 convertable transmission".
How do you convert from a 9 speed to a 13, and why would you choose the 9 over the 13?
Thanks in advance for your info.
Info on this tranny?

you can add a splitter box to the back of the tranny. you can split the top 4 gears in the high range.

Yep, alot of companies are moving to the 9 over the 10 speed as it's easily converted into a 13 with a better resale value and better fuel mileage.

Fleets like this trans as a 9. Very basic and they dont need teach the new bees how to use a 13. Then when they trade it in they convert it to a 13 and get higher resale value.
The Challenger Thanks this.
