Depending on what rates they are getting and how much of it they have, 22% of nothing is still nothing. lol

This, and this several more times. It's not just about your license or the truck registration.
If you have a dog, or firearms, load paperwork, correct logs,etc... it's a lot of stuff to get all lined up for border crossings on a regular basis, even as a company driver.

Customs don't give a rip about your logs, but any banned firearms, or pets without the health cert, and your load paperwork and bond, plus passport is kind of important. lol

Now if they do a search, and generally at least your first time crossing, they will. You don't want them to find some things, like a bullet, or even porn or too many smokes, they can get carried away, when they do.
All that said I have had much worse dealings with our customs coming back in to the US, than any grief at all from the Canadians, generally they have always been very polite and friendly, and have never searched my stuff other than look t my guns since the first time I went across. I have even pulled up and been ask, haven't I seen you before and just told to go on, and NEVER have I had to pay them to get my truck into Canada, like I do the US every time.

I didnt mean customs as far as the logs, sorry if i was misleading on that. I have never even crossed just passing along information I have collected. I was referring to making sure your company is compliant with the change in log format. Dont you have to run your logs on the Canadian format when you are up there @starmac ?

I only ran western Canada, and the logs are different, but not hard, you have to pick which format you run up there and it is either type 1 or 2, one is more for local and the other is for otr basically. You are or were allowed 13 hours driving instead of 11 until you hit the Yukon, then 15 driving and the resets were 36 hours instead of 34.
Going back is where guys mess up, you can't cross back in after driving more than 11 hours. lol
