Does insurance look at your criminal record when you get hired by a company, and if you got any warrants, or they don't. Need answer from someone that knows. - Thank you

You bet your boots they do.
-
LOL, guess if ya have to ask about warrants there are somethings that you need to take care of??
-
The trucking company might just turn you in for the reward
-
Why do you ask "does insurance"? Insurance will likely not care about any thing except your experience and MVR. However, the company is going to pull all that happy stuff, doing background checks, criminal record checks, potentially credit checks. The will no you inside and out before they hire you. -
Are you absolutely sure that certain
is absurd?
-
You should really think about getting any warrants you have straighten out first, before you even think about getting a CDL and driving for anyone..

If this is true, why did a new driver say that it was the insurance company that refused to allow the trucking company to keep him employed for them? He had just completed the company's school and got fire because they refused to insure him because of a twenty three years old ticket.
Also, while I am on the subject, just how far back can the insurance company or ever the trucking company check a persons driving records?
Also, is this same information about a drivers' MVR avail to the driver? -
1) Most insurance companies go back about 3 years on the MVR
2) You can go to your State Patrol and get a copy of your MVR as far back as you want. You will have to pay for it usually $3-7 for a 3 or 7 year report
3) Insurance companies don't care about your criminal record
4) Some companies DO do a criminal background check. A pending warrent might not show up
5) WARNING!! If you DO have ANY outstanding criminal wants on you I would HIGHLY suggest you FIX THEM NOW! When ever you get pulled over by DOT or police the FIRST thing they ask for is your drivers license! There is nothing like spending time in a jail far from home waiting for someone to figure out whats what! You can NOT hide from the police in a truck! Your odds of getting busted are better in a truck than you sitting in your living room! Take this bit of advice as gospel! We actually had a moron who tried to hide and got busted his first week out and I had to go rescue his truck from Utah and he was from Ga! That's a bus ride on the US Marshalls Service Line I would NOT want to take!
6) Then if you ARE busted you get the famous "Abandoned truck" on your DAC and I will agree with them on that point! You lied to the company about a record or outstanding warrant so that's what you deserve as it will cost them to recover the truck. BUT, it might not matter to you as you might be in jail a bit longer than the 3 year length of the DAC report!
Sorry if I'm a hard case, but if someone did the crime then Man up and do the time and do not put it off on someone else like the company you hire on with! Man up and get it fixed before you come out here! It'll be better for you in the long run and more productive money wise for you! You're 32 by your profile so you have a lot of time left! Get your life fixed THEN come out here.
Besides things should be better in trucking by then as it really sucks now!
Good Luck
