Introductions

In keeping with forum tradition, I suppose I need to introduce myself.

Real name is Scott. I drove for Schneider straight out of the Corps from 1992 to 2004. After a brief bit of time running OTR, I hooked into running local Los Angeles work for them, night shift, for about 10.5 years. I basically burned out on trucking from that experience and moved on to something different, lol. Never had at-fault accidents during that time (did have an unlicensed/unregistered/uninsured car swerve into my truck on the 710 freeway once...interesting), which is funny given the nature of harbors and railyards in L.A. I figure there might be someone in here who knows of me...whether they be lurkers or not.

Unfortunately, as it turns out, the economy has laid waste to my non-trucking endeavors, forcing me into unemployment, so I'm going to take a shot at getting back to trucking despite the economy hurting it as well. The only problem I'm dealing with at the moment is that I let my CDL slip away while moving from state to state, feeling like I wouldn't need it agian. Given my current situation, I'm kicking myself for letting it go, but anway, I'm in line to get it back through some schooling provided by the unemployment office. I'm hoping to get into some tanking this time around; I'm a little leery of dry van operations these days.

This forum is helping tremendously with research, lol, although, many of the "bad companies" were "bad companies" when I was still rolling.
