I don't understand how Crete drivers can get by if Crete doesn't allow inverters to be installed in their trucks. I like Crete but microwave and fridge are essential to me. Please shed some lights, this is important to me. All answers are appreciate.

Find a different company then that does allow inverters. Their truck, their rules. Or can get the cheap cookers and coolers that plug into cigarette lighter.

The reason most companies don't allow inverters is how it destroys the batteries.
Starter batteries used for starting engines are not made to dole out power over long periods of time, then be recharged over and over.
That's the job for deep cycle batteries.
So most fleets with inverters see battery lifespan of 12-15 months instead of 36-42 months.
Gets expensive. And to make a dual electric system (like RVs) is just too expensive.
Some companies figure this cost is what it takes to attract drivers, other (apparently like Crete) don't care.

^^that and the fact some drivers will skimp on inverter and inverter installation, but will in no way skimp on pushing the inverter to the max and constantly testing it's limitations and hoping it trips before it burns the truck down.
DC fridges are common and practical.
Microwave ovens? 10's of thousands of drivers live without one and seem to get by and don't seem to be missing very many meals.

I think Cretes Problem is that a driver did burn a truck down with all of his gadgets in there running at the same time, I vaguely remember this, But it has been a few years! good Luck!

Find a company that furnishes inverters and APUs. Then you won't have a problem with batteries, cost, or the installation. There are some out there that hire new drivers.

Only inverter I ever used was the ciggarett lighter kind for my laptop and portable dvd player.I drove for CFI that did allow inverters and their shop installed them. They are now owned by Conway, you might wanna ask them if they allow inverters.
