I have been working for Raider Express for a total of 3 months. They were making it impossible for me to run legal. I decided to quit today and I dropped off my truck connected to a load at there secure yard. I afterward called dispatch and told then that I am resigning from them and that I dropped the trailer and truck at the yard. The dispatcher told me that he will write up that I have resigned and also put load abandonment on my DAC . He was being an extreme jerk over the phone. Is there anyway I can dispute it or am I done for?
Is it over for me

You can dispute it...but it may be hard to beat.
Depends on the legal definition of "load abandonment". -
Stick the fork in him........................

BTW the reason why I'm resigning is my wife had a miscarriage and she's real torn about it. Plus I have a 5 month old infant. We live alone so I have to take care of my little girl. I really don't deserve this crap. I don't know what to do. and I'm worried because I love trucking.

Under a load........if empty OK, but never under a load !!

You have to look at if from the companies side of things
They trusted you and you let them down with out any notice
This is what DAC is for, warning other trucking companies of the possibility of you doing it again
Sorry to be hard but its just the way I see it
I just don't understand how they are giving you crap -
You have been driving for less than a year and you have an abandonment on your record already....that's not good. It is gonna be hard as hell to get another job.No company is gonna want to hire someone who bails on them with NO notice.
I'm not disputing what you say about the way they treated you,and I understand you had a situation at home. That being said, you quit under a load, do not expect them to be nice to you now.
I hope you get another job,if you do and you decide to quit....give notice. No matter how justified you think you are in quitting.
Best of luck to you. -
As bad as the company was, you always want to give them some notice, and find out where they want their equipment returned. It's called C.Y.A.

Dude, my wife had a miscarriage. I'm getting a doctors note and fighting this bs.

Sorry to hear about your wife, but that's not the company's problem. You were under a load, left it and then called your dispatcher to tell him where it was, with no notice. If that is not the definition of load abandonment, then what is? There is no bs to fight, they are writing that you abandoned a load because you did.
IF that were truly the issue, why would you not have called the company and told them what was going on and at least give them a chance to get you home? More then likely they would not have cared, but then in my mind you have a leg to stand on. Now you say you are going to get a doctors note? Thats a little late since you already abandoned the load.
Read my other posts, I am anti-company and anti-getting jerked around as all get out, but wrong is wrong, you handled the situation wrong. Sorry man.
