    Hello All.

I am in the process of getting a class A CDL. I should have it in about 3 weeks. I already have my twic & dot med card. I plan to attain the doubles/triples,hazmat, and tanker endorsements.

I currently have a Class D license and have drove non CDL trucks in the past.. I have no semi experience.

My current availability is after 4 pm on weekdays and anytime sat & sun. Is it possible to find work part time?

Apply with the companies that supply temporary truck drivers to trucking companies with a shortage. These companies are sometimes called Driver Leasing Services and they go by many different names. You tell them when you are available.

If your availability is after 4 because of other jobs then it's very unlikely. Those other jobs count on your Hours of Service clocks. Otherwise you can look for a local temp agency and see what they say.
95% of business fail, and that's working 70-100 hours a week. No one will hire you unless you actually make money for the company, which means the truck has to be in use.

Shouldn't be too bad. Unless the rules have changed over the last two years you'll be limited to 25 hours on-duty per week but you're only looking for part-time anyway so should be something out there for you. Hopefully.

    EDIT: got ninja'd by Z'var

Ok, so you must get time for a 34 hour reset, plus 10 hours before every shift,.
So you work 8a-4p at your job. That leaves Mon-Fri you can work 4p to 10p (both for the 10 hour clock and the 14 hour clock) and Saturday. Sunday you will have to take off because of hours of service will force you to a reset. Actually likely you won't be able to work much on Saturday because of the 70 hour clock.

Hopefully you can see why companies don't want to deal with part time workers.....

Yup. I had applied today to it, but it was from a different job board that didn't have some of the info that's on the one you posted. Thanks
