Slow down there sparky, and read the WHOLE comment.
Asking questions in an inquisitive fashion, with a desire to learn would be a big step for you, and one I recommend you take.
The problem is Scottie, you take videos, speak & make comments and accusational questions in them with an air of authority like you know what you're talking about. Those of us who do actually know what is going on, do recognize you as a "fool" for doing so. If you find that insulting and it hurst your feelings, understand that it's the truth and sometimes it hurts. However, you also have the power to change it if you wish, but that's your choice and your responsibility to do so.
So now that I've explained the problem to you, let me explain the issue clearly. You speak with authority and question the skills, knowledge, procedures, and abilities of the guys actually doing the job you apparently would like to do. We, the knowledgable, find it laughable and insulting. The ISSUE is, the general viewing follower and public that watch your videos don't understand and accept your "knowledge", because you actually drive a truck so the common perception is you must know and then they also question something that NONE OF YOU have the understanding that there is no reason to question how or what you're videoing is being done!
Is this correct?

That's not always a wise idea.
Load security is a personal thing.
I know some guys that don't like the way I prefer to do things.
I know lots of guys that I don't like the way they prefer to do things.
It's each and every one of our own business. We each make choices, and one day those choices we make may very well come loose and kill us. It is our responsibility, and I won't tell a man he's done it wrong, unless it's blaintantly obvious and he's going to hurt someone.
How do I know that he hasn't seen something different one day and his way would prevent that different?
On what grounds do I have to question that?
On what grounds do you?1951 ford, Feedman, snowman_w900 and 5 others Thank this. -

Do you pull those great big trailers too?

This was good read and I have deep respect for those of you that haul these giant/heavy loads, my hats off to you seriously. The biggest thing I ever hauled was a 14' wide excavator, and that was nothing really, even though I got my first oversize citation that trip...lol Okay, now lets talk about what we as drivers do know about and see every day. There are many flatbedders that do NOT secure properly and I am not saying they don't do it my way, I am saying they don't secure the DOT way. I have seen loads going down the road with product not secured at all! I can not say this about OD loads, never seen one that I felt was not secure as it was legally supposed to, or otherwise. The one the OP posted, well the pic does not show enough to make an honest statement on whether it is good or bad.

If you're married you better not let her see this.
4mer trucker and SheepDog Thank this. -
Wow, i was parked beside this load all day Saturday, guess I better look for pictures questioning my load too? Were you one of the scores of people driving slowly around every oversize load inspecting the securement? If so, how about next time getting out of your jeep and coming over directly to the driver and asking this question right to them? I know its much safer to hide behind a keyboard, but most of us don't bite in real life. Heck, you might even have learned something. I know I personally talked with this driver on Saturday night. Learned hes been with this company for 29 years. Didn't strike me as someone who got to that milestone with pure dumb luck. But who knows, maybe he did? I do know this, next time i see the Auxilliary DOT rolling through the Petro, i may just get out and ask to see your Creeper Cop Certification.
