So I'm now wanting to stay close to home and not travel a million miles for an orientation that may send you home for no reason (as just happened to me) I live in Chattanooga and have 7 mos experience.
I have considered USX, of course you hear good and bad, but here is what I am looking and current drivers please tell me if USX would suit me.

    Good mile (2500+) per week
Ability to get about every 2-4 weeks with decent home time
    Not alot of pay issues
I do not like sitting for hours or days on end waiting for a load
Let me use a power inverter
Have apus or let me idle (i can rig one to idle) and not get complained at
Not be micromanaged by FM's and pushed to get a load somewhere illegal or run unsafe

fyi I am looking at OTR

Why were you sent you home ?

US Xpress is a good company. It meets all your requirements but has no apu and will let you idle only during the summer time.

Most companies same on Criteria. So if you got sent home by one then the rest probably will also. What was the reason?

well i take ADD medicine, and under the fmcsa i cannot drive unless my physician says i can. Well he sent in a letter, but it is still at the discretion of the medical examiner (per fmcsa) so she told the company that she did not feel comfortable with me taking the meds, so i needed to go off of them. so the company said when they get a letter from my Dr. saying I am no longer prescribed the drugs, they will continue with the hiring process

FYI I have never had this issue before with any other medical examiner. They are said as long as my Dr says its fine they were cool with it

Well there ya go. UNTIL that Dr. quits prescribing and writes letter saying so , NO ONE most likely will hire you. So get priorities straight and get that done first then go look for OTR job.

well that could be true. but explain to me why all the other medical examiners had no issue, but this one did? This is medically needed. As might as well turn in my CDL

Well why not just tell them over the phone before you go. Let them know what happened so you don't waste your and their time. ASK. If FMCSA says you can't then you can't be on it. No company can change that. It's always the companies insurance that decides. Hope it works out for ya.
