I have done so much research, and made the choice to go with Millis... I have read everyone's posts on this Forum for the last few months and made the choice so much easier! I'm excited about starting in Burleson in March and look forward to making money and getting to know you guys! I have worked in the old Jail house for the last 8 years, and will be moving to Ohio to be around my wife's family in July. I look forward to the ride and have so many questions any thoughts or advice I am here to listen and appreciate the help!

Thanks... Powderblue! It seems your having fun, I have been following your post. Keep them coming it helps me a ton! We have a lot in common. We both have family and kids, but made the choice to be away to try and better them... It's been a tough choice.

Ill try to update it... I think the weekends are the worse so far... everyone but 2 of us went home last night. I could drive home .. but im staying the 3 1/2 weeks straight to save gas and to get the family a little used to me being away. I dont know how long ill stay out when im solo but this should be a good sample. During the week isnt too bad... you keep pretty busy. I brought a laptop.. been skyping with the kids here and there... sending my son pics... He is having fun with it all. Wish you the best of luck... the first part of the week is prob the worse.. lots of video's and paperwork.. Lots of info you might already know from your permit test. But there is so much to learn and hearing it all 4x prob isnt a bad thing. I noticed friday when we were in the truck all day.. time FLEW! So I'm really looking forward to the next 2 weeks of pretty much all driving. Even if OTR isn't for me I'm pretty confident from what I have read and seen so far.. this is the best way to get that cdl and 1-2 years of experience you need and make some money while you do it. Most of the Driver's have been friendly.. Mostly positive opinions of the company. Ill keep you posted :)

Welcome aboard - you'll enjoy Harold (the instructor). He's forgotten more about trucking then most of us will ever know.

Thanks!!! I'm really nervous about having to do General Knowledge, pre-test and air brakes at the time I come back with a trainer and take cdl test at the dps. The dps Office said I take those test's at time I do road test, but if I failed a test then you re-take them the next day... How will that work if there is a load.... I'm going to go ask a different person if this is accurate or can I take it now. I'm not sure maybe it's a Texas thing with the dps. A little guidance on what I need to do would sure help...

Another Student and I helped Harold load up some of his stuff from his house here in GA over the weekend. He's a real nice guy .... From what I have heard they try to get you by the DMV for your CDL with an empty. No worries .. you wont fail! :)

You have to have an empty. You can't take your test with a loaded trailer, at least not in GA you can't.

    PowderBlue Thanks this.
