    @aussiejosh,

Based on your numbers that you just posted that equates to 5% of the total number of trucks on US highways class 8 series… so for all intents and purposes, that is an extremely small amount and not all trucks have them

I never said every company is using them or will use them. I said that you can run but you can't hide.

In our safety meeting yesterday we were informed that on the 22nd we go live with the AI cameras from lytx.
Will be recording continually and kept for 12 hours.
Will capture anything that they interpret as distracted or safety compromising.
We already run drivecam but only go off if you are hit or hit something.

    Reach for anything..boom. image capture.
Go into the cooler for a drink..boom.
Take your eyes off the road for more than a second..boom, image captured.
    Somebody too close in front..boom.
Need to brake hard or take a ramp at the ramp limit..boom, image captured.
    5 over posted..boom, image taken.
    All sent to the boss.

The boss is gonna be one busy sob.
Said he gets 350 emails a week now..
    He's fitting to get 1500 a day.

We just laugh and told em we will be going to an all hourly wage when the contract is up next spring. Gonna cost em 20+ grand per driver every year.
We will be the one's rocking the right lane at less than the speed limit.

BTW our safer web score is one of the best out here but we had 3 rollovers in March, all in foreign countries, but this is how they react.

Where are you coming up with these numbers? 600,000 cameras in trucks from ONE company. There are only 2.9 million tractor trailers on the road in the US. That one company has 18% of the entire tractor trailer industry and that doesn't include ANY other companies. Those are numbers from YOUR own link.

I don't think a lot of these companies want to put them in, but nuclear verdicts are causing these companies to run scared.

That list is incorrect. There are a few on there who no longer have inward cameras, one is on there who never had them, and one is on there who allows the inward camera to be covered.

Maybe someone can create an updated list? Also, a list of who has what outward facing camera system, since they are not all the same.
