    Hi my name is Joey Chappell, an i've been at JMB for 4yrs now. An i most say that i can't believe all the negative things ppl are saying about the company i take pride in working for. I run dedicated team with my brother, an we both love it. We run great mls every week an we always get home on the weekends. We drive great aquipment, an never have problems with getting maintenance done. Everyone in the office knows us by our first names. And Tylisha C is one of the best dispatchers i've had the pleasure to work with. Now she does get hard to work with at times. But that's only because she is constantly working hard to keep her drivers rolling and making money. This company has plenty of freight and mls to run. An the ppl in the office are 2nd to none. I find it very hard to believe all the negative comments, about the company i call home. Smh

    Just started at JM Bozeman. If the people I’ve met at headquarters were as criticized above, I’d have left. I don’t lack for offers. Or more money.

    During orientation I was stuck at Malvern, AR for ten days due to Concentra screwing up UA. JMB paid for nice hotel, food and breakdown pay. I had keys to new company vehicle the whole time. I was invited to go out to eat lunch nearly every day with group even after I’d finished orientation. Restaurants in a resort town (Hot Springs) not dried-out Dominoes pizza.

    They bent over backwards, though the problem was out of their control (the ladies in recruiting acted as though I were a relative from out-of-town, not just another ###### driver).

    Ever spent a few days waiting on a hard chair with an asphalt lot as your view at some company? Listen to a vending machine rumble and doors slamming and arguments in background? Typical overwhelming trucker drama? That’s a different galaxy. (Does it never happen? Haven’t said that).

    Some days I hung out on the back porch after lunch for a few hours. As a result I had time to meet people I wouldn’t have met otherwise. Old hands & new hires. Shop personnel & dispatchers. And I had that second or third visit when I remembered the questions I forgot the first time. I won’t say I ran out of questions, but I have more phone numbers offered than are on the company list. So will you.

    In the case of every person it was more than surface politeness. That’s not easily obtained. Many talk it, few walk it.

    The owner stopped one afternoon and we conversed a good 5-10/minutes. Credit goes it belongs. It’s no wonder they like this guy. He sets the pace. It’s relaxed. Focused.

    He lured the man over equipment (not shop manager) out of retirement from decades at CAT. In turn, if that man doesn’t impress hell out of you, forget I tried. His type is rare in any field. He’s got nine or so golf courses to choose from. And he really loves golf. But, here he is . . . .

    I was at headquarters when a US Congressman came thru on behalf of a joint committee. Yesterday Fed Ex was to be there to present them an award as Contractor of the Year. They have a presence, in other words. Quality matters. You’ll see it and feel it. (Different galaxy, remember?)

    200-units [+/-]. A relative size they plan to maintain. They prefer to hire only experienced hands. I met a good number. Solo and team. No surprises from questions I asked (I started 21-years ago).

    We all know there’s no perfect company, and no perfect fit. So note this: turnover is so low it’s almost doesn’t chart. Pay or other might be better elsewhere, but there’s a reason drivers stay. And there’s no end of other driving jobs in AR, this ain’t the only livery service in a backwoods town. Locals can go right up the road to Little Rock. (I live in Fort Worth; see hiring map).

    The assigned tractor is a 2016 579 Pete midroof. 350k (trade at 500). Like new. Detailed top to bottom. I think broken visor clips are the extent of damage. I’ll order and pay for those. I don’t care about niggling reimbursements versus asking shop about something not serious . . . tell me about tractors you’ve been given where no one before you gave a hoot. (“Like new”, remember?).

    MX13 plus Eaton 10-Auto and triple disc. Near top interior spec. AC was icy into 100F Texas sun on trip home yesterday (Friday). Smooth & comfortable.

    Dropped load and was told to bobtail home. “Call us when you’re ready”. I’ll get moved in, do some truck-driver updates on license & certificates on Monday and roll out Tuesday. Plenty of time to prepare for 2-3 weeks out.

    None of this “another load ready” before you’ve had a chance to set up sleeper & cab with gear & supplies in a 10-hr hurry-up-crap. I may stay out months, not days or weeks. Point is, every time I braced myself for a confrontation (that old galaxy), it wasn’t there.

    I’ve worked places where one thing or another got me there and kept me there. But this is the first time it’s a checkmark in every category. Believe me that I’ll remember that when things aren’t going my way out there. (No perfect job, remember?).

    Proud of what you do? Look & act like a professional? I’d say that if the job description appeals to you, to give recruiting a call. If they don’t know your exact answer, they’ll find out. After all, the good drivers aren’t easily found. But need to be treated as such.

    I completely agree with you , my husband and I team with JMB. We choose stay out 6 weeks and come home for 2. We choose not to be dedicated, but run wild. We love it, usually we have the weeks runs laid out for us on Monday and hardly ever even have to get in touch with dispatch. We came from a big company and were completely surprised on how a company can work. The first day if orientation, they gave us the key to their company car and a map. They said go get your drug test done and come back when you're done. No hand holding here ! Their philosophy is that we are experienced, knowledgeable adults and that's how we are treated. We love this company and we will retire here.

    in the past 24 months your company has had accidents resulting in one fatality 10 injuries and 20 tows. Sounds super safe to me. Lol
