The best way to fix the problem with the government regulation is to just charge what it is worth to haul the load in the time that is allowed.
If all politicians had to drive trucks too we wouldn't even have any HOS rules. Since they do not drive trucks they do whatever they want to us.
Heard a comment on the xm radio this morning, "if an entrenpenuer dislikes change they ought to hang it up". Change is the natural course of things, you just adapt and move on.
So if they were to make a change that you can't listen to the radio while driving and can't talk even on a bluetooth anymore because it's not safe. Would you be a good boy and do it or complain?
So , if I don't like the regulations I ought to just get out of trucking? Can't I hate some of the regulations and still drive a truck? Of course I can. I've been doing it for years. And I reserve the right to keep #####in' about it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. One day . Maybe.
Oh here I go. I was about to sign a lease with a co. We are going to install a Qualcomm in your truck to make things easier for Us to get in touch with you. No your not. My Mother needs to know where I am, You don't. I need a source of loads, not a babysitter. It's company policy, every truck we have has one. It's not your truck, It's mine. We need to keep in touch with you. I have a cell phone. I'm afraid it does not work like that. Neither Do I. You want a driver or a toy? I get the freight to where it's going, I get paid, how I do it is my thing. Your boobs, low cut dress is nice, but My truck is better. If you want to know where I am call me. No one drills holes in my truck but me. No one changes the way My truck runs. I have 15 gears, I use 12 most of the time. 62 mph don't always work for me. If you don't trust me, I don't need to talk to you anymore.
I would adapt. You interpret that however you wish. I see older experienced drivers ready to quit. I see unnecessary regs mucking up the system. I think these are things that give trucks more leverage. But that's just my o. I'm always satisfied with the rates I set. Anything that causes shippers to scramble is good for the hip pocket $$$$ unless you're chained to a deadend lease or company truck. Sent from my droid using Tapatalk 2
