I have seen similar comments on www.bobistheoilguy.com site regarding K&N. I have yet to see much negative regarding Fleet Air. They are different in design and material. How much, I am not sure. Like I said, I have no dog in that hunt. But before a "horror story" occurs, if someone is doing proper oil sampling (regardless of using one of these or standard filters), then they should be able to catch anything early on before it becomes a "horror story". Pickup owners, and many big truck owners, do not have a good oil sampling program in place. It would be rare for me to be caught off guard since I do regular oil sample testing. Whether I try it or not, I am not sure at this point. Anecdotal evidence is spurious at best.
