Proper tire maintenance you should check the pressure every month You sure would not be working for me, that might be ok on grandmas go to church only 1987 CHEV IMPALA , but on a highway unit thats a lot of miles , wear / tear between pressure checks.

Mine are checked every Monday morning ( my drivers get paid to do it ) and twice again during the week. Very little tire troubles.

 

tire maintenance is very easy to do--but if it isnt done--it can get costely pretty quick
make sure your guage is accurate--you wouldnt believe how much difference in readings there are if you try everybodys in the shop---
check the side walls for bulges and when you stop--sometimes a good idea to just run your hand over the tire looking for fod and excessive heat
and for gods sake stay off of the shoulder--its like a hardware store with all the junk on it
