I suppose each persons opinion varies on what is considered "new, well maintained equipment", but I personally would not consider trucks with an average of 750,000 miles on them new. Although each division is different, pay, type of work, and equipment, Advantage Tank Lines has JUNK. Such a fight to get anything done on these junk trucks, arguments with dispatch, the lead mechanic, terminal managers that have never driven a truck before.

So, seriously consider what their definition of New Equipment means. I promise you, it is junk.

I cannot speak for other divisions, and to be honest, cant even keep up with the acquisitions they keep doing. It is ruining what used to be a great career, hauling gasoline. Companies have to much power over the worker, and the end result is longer, tougher, cheaper working conditions. Gasoline haulers used to be top tier drivers. Not so for the most part anymore. And scab outfit, common carriers are the main reason for this.

I think it also depends on where you are. Up here in Northern Wisconsin, Carriers are really hurting for drivers. So they are treated a little better. I have seen the Keen Trucks up here, and for the most part they are newer and appear in good condition. But again, this is a different division from what you have seen.

Yep, Have been with them 9yrs now they used to replace trucks when they got 750,000mi now they just keep fixing them over and over. Like you say they just want to spend money on buying smaller companys but they are doing a bad job running the one they have. (very poor dispatch). Its a shame these companys always think they need get bigger and bigger.

I am a local fuel hauler. in southwest mi. northern ind, I make on average $23hr Its easy work, Load and unload myself so I don't have to wait on some minumin wage guy to decide he has time to load me. The company it self is good they have good benfits and safety bounses. I make $70k a yr but like I say I have been with them awhile. Like the other guy said there trucks are getting older. unless you go to work for KLEMM they have newer trucks but I am under the impression they get paid less than us, I work for ADVANTAGE. both are part of KENAN ADVANTAGE GROUP. If the truck does break or you show up to work and it needs fixed you get paid by the hour till its fixed. every thing you do you get paid and they don't screw around with what they owe you. Like every company out there they have good points and bad. I make a good living with them and am home every day..
