Does anyone know the vertical space between the bunkbed on the 2006 model? I was wondering if an avg. sized person could sit fully upright on the bottom bunk when the top bunk is down.

Not unless you're short.
I'm 6 foot. The top bunk hits me about the base of my skull when I try to sit upright, on the edge. So be prepared to remain stooped over. -
thanks for the info. overall do you like the truck?

It's a great truck. I wish the company I drove for now used them.
Couple of things... wind noise around the door seals as they age. Usually a good shop can fix this...somewhat.
If it's an autoshift. The floor space up front, is wonderful. I drove auto and standard. I couldn't believe the differance in space between the 2.
Storage is excellent. It can be a pain if the compartments use webbing instead of doors though. Hopefully you'll have storage drawers, instead of just shelves.
Mirror placement, is excellent IMO.
Overall, the creature comfort level throughout increases with the size of the sleeper. So your level of comfort during downtime will be dictated by the size that was ordered.bettyluvsjoe and FIB Thank this. -
thanks a lot. Schneider owns the truck, so I am not sure how the cabinets are spec'd. My hubby is in a new prostar now, which also has the shorter space between the two bunks... I hate that! but it is so smooth and quiet. his has the netting instead of doors that you were speaking of... true pain in the butt! over all i love the pro star it has tons of floor space, it doesnt look like the T2000 has anywhere near as much space. It is a 13 gear c15 engine, not auto shift. it looks really sweet! the previous owner really babied it. I just wish we could sit up like humans under the bunk instead of apes!

well my T-2000 or I should say my neighbors...just sold it to him was great! Ordered it new in 97 it was one of the first of the 98's. Went from a T-600 to a T-2000....it was like sittin on the couch in the LR when we were in the seats......pleanty of storage.....sadly it dropped a valve in July and well we were between a rock and hard spot and couldn't afford the down time for a new engine nor could we see spending 16 thou for an overhaul on a '98 only worth about 15 thou...we have a T-600 and with the 2 of us sleeping in a bunk the size of a twin mattress it is rough...not enough storage for both of our clothes.......enjoy the T-2000.......

thanks a lot. my hubby picked it up yesterday, so far so good. the pro stars ride will be hard to beat, so we will see. I will say from the pics the inside is very beautiful! and yeah I know about cramming on the bottom bunk... so it will be nice to stretch out with the ol man!
