Lol we should watch posts on here and wait and see if anyone complains about someone tying a bag of trash around their mirror... I'm sure it never would happen but can you imagine the roasting??

It would be nice if everybody was as conscientious and responsible as the top 20% or so of the population but unfortunately it's the bottom 20% that makes it hell for everybody else.
Ezrider_48501, raged.ga and bigtruckin89 Thank this. -
The best thing to do would have been throw it away after you picked it up. The guy probably won't notice it, it will eventually rip. The contents of the bag will become part of the freeway collection and the bag will fly lonely and distracting across the freeway for a while. I have caught many drivers on my dash cam peeing in the parking lots, throwing trash, and assorted other disgusting behavior. What I have personally found to be the most rewarding thing to do is forward a copy of the footage to their company, or give it to the management of the facility where I am at.
For instance, I saw a guy empty out a camp cooler full of stuff he had left in the truck on hometime (lunch meat, veggies, frozen dinners etc) into the lot at OUR company. I took it into dispatch, they sent me to safety. They brought the guy in, told him he could go on probation and clean the entire parking area (very big yard) or he could be terminated. There were trashcans within 15 feet of the truck when he dumped them.
The bottom line is no matter how often you do something about these types of drivers, more will be there. The current state of things is simply to lax on people like this. Most of those guys don't care about their jobs, or their self image. They are the same guys that funk up the entire TS when they enter, will sit in the driver's lounge for three hours yelling into a blue parrot headset while watching tv, wear the same clothes for 4-5+ days at a stretch. Part of why the industry is hurting for drivers: there are very few willing to adopt that self image, weeks of away time, overwhelmingly unhealthy work conditions for a slight bump in pay. -

It's just as bad when a driver parks and then sweeps out all the garbage left over out the back, tosses pallets and whatever and just leaves it. Honestly, in this profession, this has got to be one of the most tedious things we, as drivers, have to do from time to time. If you compare that to what others do for a living and think it's all that difficult to do or have chest pains when it comes to disposing of your waste properly, you:
1. Were raised as a slob, in the image and example your parents set and don't want to disappoint anyone.
2. Have had access to maids and cleaning services all your life and now that you're out on the road, are completely clueless and helpless when it comes to getting rid of your trash.
3. Once worked for the EPA and since you were fired from that agency, now feel the need to get even as often as possible, wherever you go.
4. Are the same guy who parks in the fuel island and goes on vacation inside the truck stop while 20 or more of us are waiting.
5. Look and act exactly the same as the trash your tossing out, all over the place.
6. Have become the main reason Walmart and everyone else it seems, doesn't want us parking there.
7. Can't even gain entry to landfills having been designated as an "Environmental Hazard."
8. Should have to wear a placard strapped around your neck so we can all avoid you.
9. Are the first one to complain whenever and wherever parking for drivers that was once available, is now off limits.
10. Are all the above. -
I said, "no, it's YOUR freight, your trash".
He refused to clean it.
I backed up to the fence, unloaded ALL that crap on the lot, drove off.
When I got back, I told my boss, and then the main terminal in Richmond, VA. The UPS supervisor was livid. My company said, well, we don't need to make deliveries there no more, it was a "side load to get you home, as we had no liquor or cigarette loads, or Circuit City loads".
The vice president of my company told UPS we do not haul your trash, you own it once you accepted the load.
About 2-3 weeks later we had another UPS load, same place. Another Driver picked up the trailer.
Perfectly cleaned. -
You did good driver.

That is something I have little tolerance for. Especially when trash cans and dumpsters are available. It's amazing how lazy society has become though. I don't drive truck but I'm an avid outdoorsman and wind up picking up trash at the parking areas and sometimes in the woods as well. I think I'm fortunate to live in a beautiful area and a beautiful country and do my part to keep it that way. A lot of people should be sent over to the third world countries or Asia where they pee, crap and throw their trash in the street. They'd be right at home.
