Howdy All
I'm a born but not bread left coaster, that is to say I love everything about California (cept for two citys) I've been trucking most of my life and started working under them and then in them and before i bought my truck i even (hold your nose now) dispatchedI don't do that been there done that routine as a rule ...... the admins sent me here.
My first taste of trucking was when i was driving back to West Covina where i had my first summer job diggin ditches. I broke down at Wheeler Ridge scales on the way home and my first car was toast. A driver with an over weight cantaloupe load told me if I'd climb up in the ice and move some boxes he'd give me a ride over the hill. After the pull up the hill workin a two stick box and that rocket ride down the other side when he was scaring the hell outta me makin turns in the road stickin his arm through the wheel while double clutchin it and showering down on that hammer I was hooked bad. I don't remember the year of the truck but it was a KW with a 290 cummalong that rode like a roller coaster. I've tried to do other things for a living but it always pulls me back.
Well thats it, I hope to read your stories and find out a bit about what got you hooked on this way of life.
