Load Board is for obtaining loads for carriers. Load Board is for distributing loads by brokers. It is a platform for both parties. Hopefully this helps.

Normally you are going to call the office posting the load sign a carrier agreement& agree on the price(do negotiate) and all particulars about the loading & unloading the load. You will discuss when you will be paid. You also want to know how reputable they are with paying (you might want to deal with will known brokers who pay on time). All the best to you on your journey.

So you get by the shipper and not through the load board?

Broker or factoring co ...if using load boards

OK thank you that helps a lot.

You send Broker an invoice, along with a copy of Confirmation Sheet, BOL. They send you a check. Some use images, some still demand Originals. Very few though. Should be able to bill them all digitally, via email, using a phone scan app, or a phones camera,

Not using a broker, doing it myselfRideandrepair Thanks this.

The load board is where carriers and broker post loads looking for trucks. It is also where you as an owner operator can post your truck when you are looking for a load. The broker or carrier pays you after the load is completed, generally in 30 or more days. Unless you get whats called quick pay, where they take a percentage to pay you sooner. Usually 24 hours to 3 days. Hope this helps.Lite bug, madmatt212 and oFlow Logistics Thank this.

Then send the invoice Directly to whoever you got the Load from.Lite bug Thanks this.
