I would have to think, anything you haul for hire, needs an elog. I can't believe paper logs even exist anymore.

You need both. The electronic one should be the one you use all the time. You keep a paper one just in case the electronic one malfunctions. Many guys will try to pull that stunt, but the elog malfunctions really don't happen that much at all. Many hot guys don't think they need an elog but they better follow those guidelines. I knew a driver that got nailed on Knoxville I wanna say. He didn't have an elog in his truck. You don't want that ticket

What’s an Elog??
exhausted379, Coffey and 201 Thank this. -
Thank you,,,you know, you are probably old enough, we used to fold paper logs in half and slam them in the door to keep it from rattling. I was told, if asked for a paper log, it was better to say you lost it, rather than filled out incorrectly. I suppose in an elog, it would be best to pull the ground cable off,,

99 and under does not need E-Log. Use Off Duty while you at the Motel, or Sleeping in the Truck. Only use Sleeper Berth if you have a legal one. Not the best time to start a hotshot company. At the least wait until mid spring when freight “normally “ picks up.

I preferred shop rags seemed to last longer
And frankly the only thing my Dad&Grandad told me bout logs was
“If they ask for it… tell em ya forgot it”
