I hope you're not serious. I can't work at a 7-11 without it being logged on duty (not that I would), washing a truck is most definitely on duty.

interesting
can eloggers use that same logic for being stuck in traffic? because it is the exact same circumstance
just log the time they are moving -
I spend about 6-8 hours washing and detailing my truck. If I launch the next day I ain't gonna let that count toward my 70 out if the house. Just like if I owned my truck and use my truck as my personal vehicle when home I'm going to log everything as off duty-driving.
I can't help it....yeah, he can't help it.
Haha

Yes
I was off duty at our gary terminal. Headed for Chicago and took about 3 hours to get through. All the stop and go traffic kept my elogs on line 1. It would go to line 3 but id come to a stop in traffic and it automatically switches back to line 1 and doesn't count line 3 as ever being logged.
Basically I drove through chicago on line 1. Of course I fixed it

No you're stuck on the road, that actually fits the definition of driving. On duty time doesn't specifically define waiting for free urinal.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

This whole thread is hilarious. In answer to the traffic question... If you're in the sleeper, you're in the sleeper. Interstate turns into a parking lot for four hours, I'm not driving. Open the curtain crawl in the back and nap it up. Comes witha courtesy wake up call too! Just like them nice HO-Tels.

we call those situations exceptions.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Exactly. Your stuck long enough to need to pop the brakes. Crawl in the sleeper and log sleeper. You are no longer at the controls of your truck.
Knock knock!
DOT: Let me see your log book.
Me: I'm in the sleeper makin a sammich, want one?
DOT: no
