If you drive monday for 8 hours, you log that accordingly.

IF you spent tuesday and Wed at home and told to drive again Thurs, your logs will be off duty from last duty change Monday end of driving all the way to the thursday begin of workday hour and minute.

There is a certain amount of airmiles permitted in which you are exempt provided you return to the original point at end of trip.

Also paper logs are only allowed for 8 days only if the ELD system went down. Otherwise you are on time clock at the employer at the beginning and ending of each day.

He is describing a drive a way operation [the vehicle is the item being delivered] so he is exempt from the 8 days in 30 requirement.

OP may qualify for the 100 air mile exemption...then he wouldn't need a log at all as it is always the same destination.

Thanks for all the great info. I am paid by the hour. Driving hours. Usually drive to destination and they pay for fuel, food lodging and flight back on long runs. Otherwise drive with a chase driver and car to bring me back on short runs. I will take the information and apply as needed.
