Was this in the early morning or near dusk? I notice he has his marker lights on and the outside light is dim. There are so many factors that could cause this, that he kept it upright works in his favor. Those trashing him though, it could be a simple as a deer ran across the road and he swerved to avoid it (BTDT) to he fell asleep at the wheel. Sorry, but some of these "situations" are not always cut/dry about what happened, and beating the person up without knowing all the details does nothing.
