I have had my CDL for a while, but I have never really used it. I don't like driving the full size tractor trailers, they are too big for my tastes and a pain to get into a lot of places. My experience left my frustrated and I went back into my old line of work. I was stopped at a truck stop the other week on my way back from a new years eve party in CA and I found myself wandering around and noticed a fed ex custom critical straight truck with a sleeper and said "that looks more up my alley". Did some research on it was and it sounds like something worth trying. My issue is that it all seems to be O/O geared. Now I am not willing to make the kind of financial commitment on something I have never done before, but I still would like to roll with an O/O or a company and check it out. I applied on Fed-Ex custom critical's website to run with another driver as a team, but if anyone here has any leads, or knows of someone in my area that does the straight truck work and needs a co-driver I am all ears. I could be ready to go ASAP.

Contact some of the larger expeditors. They have owners of small fleets that are always hiring. Lack of experience may be only issue.

Panther Expedite hires with no experience required if you have a CDL.
On the website, click on Careers & then on Fleet Drivers. -
If you got at lease 6 months exp in T/T and want to drive a straight truck look into Express - 1,Bolt Express,J.D Clerk or C&M. Panther will hire you if no prior exp for straight but I wouldn't roll with them living in CA they don't do well in west coast. Do some homework Panther in my option is a starter company for getting S/T exp.
