Loophole to remove Automatic Restriction

(2) The person must pass a driving or skills test in accordance with the standards contained in subparts F, G, and H of this part taken in a motor vehicle that is representative of the type of motor vehicle the person operates or expects to operate; or provide evidence that he/she has successfully passed a driving test administered by an authorized third party.

A bobtail isn't representative of a class a vehicle....

 

as mentioned in #3, just take the class, and tests in a stick shift truck. all this nonsense of so many that only want to drive automatics, is taking a huge bite out of thier butts (and wallets) to retest.

if the school one goes to ONLY has automatics?

seek out another school.

yeah, simple to say i know, but then again, it ain't my problem if anyone has any restrictions.

i think it's called the dumbing down of America, where so many want an easy way into something.

 

100%. I straight up told the school I went to that I'm not interested in an auto. If they couldn't put me in a manual I'd go elsewhere. Fortunately all the trucks they had were 18 speeds.

 

The vehicle type (auto/manual) you take your road test in is what determines your license restrictions.
