Ask for your company to send you a copy of your CDL. Then go home, go to the dmv, and get a duplicate. Problem solved! ( only because I've done this......)dannythetrucker, Mr.X, pattyj and 1 other person Thank this.

Well im working for a private company/owner that simplybasked to see my cdl. We only have 2 trucks. Thank you nonetheless for letting me know this is not the end of the world!
-
Some states will mail a new one if you request a copy online.
-
Uh, your company is required to have a copy of you CDL on file, that way in the case of an accident or audit, you can be shown as an actual CDL holder.

My greatest concern is getting pulled over and not having it on me. I am a valid cdl holder it just scares the crap outta me because my company is the type to have me drive regardless of not having it on me. My past is a bit checkered and this outfit is the only one I found that woue hire me... I just didnt know everything before taking the job. I know... my mistake. I already have caught a misdemeanor because of operating a commercial vehicle registered for intrastate use without the proper permits. Guys im kicking myself for taking this job but it was my only option. And now my cdl is missing so... im in a bit of a jam.

You need to go home and get your a duplicate copy of your CDL right now and find another job. As of January 1, 2015, shippers and recievers are required to see your CDL.Shaggy Thanks this.
