<- 1,286,000 miles, on my original Volvo D13, I don't use Lucas or any other oil additives but I use synthetic oil only, Shell Rottela T6 5w40.

I was going to change to synthetic but the guys in the rotella products trailer I can't do to being an older motor (2000). If I could run synthetic, I probably wouldn't run the Lucas.

So someone said you can't run synthetic in an older motor? lol I'm not advocating synthetic but that's just plain not true!

LOL Yea, that's not true. It may not make enough difference for the money, but synthetic is at least as good and most likely better.

Some people say running synthetic in an older motor is more beneficial than in a newer one. I'm not sure about that but running synthetic in an older motor is certainly no worse than in a newer motor. I run full synthetic in my cars and 4x4s. Have for years. They certainly aren't new either. I'm considering a synthetic blend in my 03 CAT 6NZ 550HP.

One guy said about having that oil on n-14 and it didn't work well.

I really do love it when people swear they get a millage increase. That is provable, put it on a dyno for 15 minutes, to get a base rate with no lucas, add the Lucas, if you do not get a HP and torque increase, then it is 100% BS. See I have tried most every aditive there is and not once did they increase the HP or torque.
    Just a thought!

The guys were shell employees. Told me that the older motors needed one of the elements (sulphur or zinc maybe?) In the oil as they were designed to utilize it. They said some guys do use synthetic oil and get away with it but most have issues.

Funny that you mentioned that because we did just that with a 7045 allis Chalmers. 20+/- HP gain to the ground and 25 at the PTO with the fuel treatment but you're set in your ways and will try to brush it off any how.
